We were pleased with our initial contact with Mid-Valley since day one. Very professional, reassuring and through answering our questions. Just great phone presence . . . Matt the owner took the time to personally come to our home, work with us, explain the scope of work and assure us in person. It was the best decision we made as his crew was competent, kind and went 110% is doing a great job for us. We are so pleased. We found them to be a great company to work with top to bottom and would highly recommend their work and effort in satisfying a client- can’t ask for anything more.

What Do Our Inspections Consist Of?

Not every inspection is exactly the same, but yours should always include the following aspects:

  • Check the flashing, chimney cap, and chimney crown.
  • Check the structural soundness of the brick and mortar.
  • Check the flue for signs of animals or debris buildup.
  • Check for any obvious signs of decay or deterioration.
  • Check the damper for proper functioning.

If you need a level 2 inspection, we’ll use our specialized camera equipment to get an in-depth and thorough look at your chimney. No matter what, we’ll get the answers you need to gain warmth and peace of mind!

Why Are Annual Chimney Inspections Important?

First and foremost, annual inspections ensure your fireplace operates safely – that means less chance of gas leaks, chimney fires, carbon monoxide exposure, smoke in the home, and more.

In addition, inspections are a must for avoiding bigger damages and ensuring optimal efficiency all year long. Blockages, crumbling mortar, damaged/missing components, and more aren’t always so noticeable, and they all have a huge effect on how well (or not well) your system operates. Annual inspections allow us to spot any issues before they get worse – and more expensive to address.

When Should I Book My Chimney/Fireplace Inspection?

So, you’re convinced you need to get this maintenance on the books. Now… When should you do it? The best time of year to schedule is in the spring or summer months.

Most incorrectly assume they should schedule their inspection in the fall (right before they’re likely to put their system to use), but here’s the thing – our schedule books get jam-packed this time of year. That means finding a convenient spot can be tough, and it doesn’t leave us a big window for repair work, either – which means you may find yourself delaying the start of your burn season.
